There are several caves in the area, supposedly used by smugglers in the 1800's to smuggle illicit goods in from Canada.
There are some beaver dams nearby in the notch that create a stunning, peaceful landscape to admire the fall colors.

Just past Sterling Pond is a great few, but only for those that trudge on. The top of the Smugs Ski Lifts are accessible and give some great views.
The town of Burlington is where most people start their Vermont journey. This is church street on a quiet morning before my hike.
Stowe is a hot spot for skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer...but we get crushed with tourist during the fall as well. They are all here to check out the changing colors of the leaves. But no one ever knows if it'll be a good year or not.

This is Sterling Pond. I almost thought about taking a dip, but I didn't have my suit and there were several people around, enjoying the beautiful day.
Some days you just have to get out and enjoy nature. Call is forest bathing, or working out, or just getting back to your natural roots. It always feels good.
