Black Rock Dive, Part 1

Lined Fireworm
As our fun filled 2 year anniversary weekend came to an end I had one more surprise for Heidi. I had stashed all of our scuba dive equipment in the trunk of the car for a rare opportunity to do a west side dive on Maui. Our resort was right next to a great dive site called Black Rock, where a huge lava wall breaks the almost endless beaches of Kaanapali.

Imperial Nudibranchs (Risbecia imperialis)
Underwater the dive started off great with nudibranchs, cleaner shrimp, fireworms, and lots of reef fish swimming around. The current was ripping from south to north which was our direction as well. Usually I try to swim against the current and ride it back but that wasn't possible here. Stay tuned for the solution to our current problem in the next post. More dive pics to come as well.
